Arists in Residence is a series of seminars conducted at the St. Marys Station Gallery by local artists who will demonstrate and discuss their craft. Peter Allan Rice kicked off the series on Saturday July 9th, 2022. Peter was in the Gallery from 1pm to 4pm working on a new creation. This was a good opportunity to see the artist at work and ask questions about his process. Peter’s book “Reflections in Glass and Stone” is on sale at the Gallery Boutique. The Station Gallery will welcome Peter back for another seminar at a future date. Keep posted by going to our website for further information or contact us at email@example.com.
On July 16th from 1pm to 4pm artists Annette Sullivan and Angela Found will be at the Gallery to talk about their exhibition, “Whispers along the path”, a First Nations exhibit of drawings and paintings. This exhibition was delayed for 2 years due to the Covid pandemic and is finally now at the Station Gallery.
On Saturday August 6th from 1pm to 4pm artist Renee Knight will demonstrate drawing techniques in coloured pencils and watercolours. Renee wll be exhibiting her beautiful bird watercolours which highlight Endangered Species in our upcoming 2023 season.
Continuing with our “Meet and Greet, Artists in Residence series” on Saturday, August 27th from 1pm to 4pm, well known local artist Anna Koot will hold a “hands on” session on the ancient art of Encaustic Painting. Anna would like to have participants become involved in the process of painting with beeswax and see the different tools and techniques used by Anna in her paintings.
