Local Artist Anna Koot will be at the Station Gallery to demonstrate the ancient art form of Encaustic Painting. Best known for the portraits on Greco-Egyptian 100-300 A.D. mummies using colours mixed with hot Bees Wax, the Encaustic techniques have been used by many famous artists through the centuries, the most famous being British painter William Turner (1775-1851). Anna is best known for her beautiful work featuring fields of flowers and birds on branches. She now is featuring the “peskey” Bunny. Anna will hold a “hands on” demonstration at the Station Gallery on Saturday, August 27 at 1pm to 4pm where she will answer questions and disclose the secrets of her art form. Come see and get involved.
