Sunday, Dec. 20 was a busy day at the PRC with three head-to-head games involving St. Marys ringette teams.
In a U12 game, four goals by Tayla Paulin–including the winning and insurance tallies–powered the Blue team to a 9-7 victory over the Green squad. Paulin also earned an assist for a five-point game. Her winning goal came with just 1:52 to play, breaking a 7-7 tie.
Carlie Muir and Kacey Graham added two goals apiece for the Blue Snipers, who held a narrow 4-3 lead at the halfway mark.
Joey Binning was the big shooter for Green with five goals, while the singles went to Kirsten McKichan and Marci Linton.
Martin collects five points
In a U19 game, a balanced scoring attack propelled the St. Marys Blue team to a 7-2 win over the Green Snipers.
Melanie Martin opened the scoring and also collected four assists for the Blue squad. Ashtyn Wedow clicked for a goal and three assists, while Alia Linton and Avery Richardson each scored twice. Kirsten Kipfer contributed to the offence with a goal and an assist.
Regan Frayne and Kaitie Gratton replied for the Green side.
Ends in 6-6 tie
In a U16 game, the Green and Blue Snipers battled to a 6-6 draw.
Green held a 5-3 advantage after the first half, but the Blue out-scored their opponents 3-1 in the second half to earn the tie.
Pacing the Blue comeback was Olive Aarts with three goals, including the tying marker, and one assist. Courtney Linton added a goal and two assists, while the other singles went to Kailey McRoberts and Ella Taylor.
Jenna Hutton fired a first-half hat trick for Green, while teammate Meg Richardson had a goal and two assists. The other singles went to Kaylee Fowler and Anaya Larmer, with Jessica Burlingham chipping in two assists.
