It was a high-scoring affair as the St. Marys U10 Green team and Mitchell Stingers battled to a 7-7 tie in mini-league ringette action last Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the PRC.
Lily Murphy’s third goal of the contest–with just under four minutes to play–gave St. Marys the tie. Murphy, who was a threat every time she was on the ice, also added an assist for a four-point night.
Isabella Fluttert picked up two goals and one assist for the Snipers, while Lily Forbes clicked for one goal and helped set up others. Ava Bastien also contributed offensively with a goal and an assist.
Lillian Garniss, who was a standout on defence, also earned an assist, while goalkeeper Meredith Stokes had a strong game as well. She made a big last-minute stop to keep the score deadlocked. Also playing well for the Snipers were Olivia Hendriks, Olivia Bordman, Sophia Bordman and Lillian Johnston.
Jordyn Schellenberger was the big shooter for Mitchell with four goals.
U12 Blue wins 9-6
In a U12 game on Nov. 3 at the PRC, St. Marys Blue defeated St. Marys Green 9-6.
Blue held a 6-4 lead at the halfway mark.
Leighton Lichti led the way for the Blue squad with three goals, while Kacey Graham and Tayla Paulin added two apiece. Lily Hollestelle-Black chipped in a goal and two assists.
Josephine Binning fired a hat trick for Green, with Marci Linton adding a pair of goals.
In a U19 game on Nov. 3, six second-half goals sparked St. Marys Blue to a 7-3 victory over St. Marys Green.
Melanie Martin, Jill Sterkenburg and Alia Linton all scored two goals apiece to pace the Blue attack. Martin also had two assists for a four-point outing. Jill Unich contributed a goal and two assists for the winners, while Jadyn DeBoer helped out with three assists.
Emily McCurdy had two goals and Regan Frayne (penalty shot) one for Green.
