New grant program provides funding to offset COVID-19 costs
As the COVID-19 crisis continues, the Town of St. Marys and its Business Economic Support and Recovery Task Force are launching a new grant program to reduce the burden on local businesses.
The COVID-19 Business Grant Program provides up to $3,000 to help businesses facing financial challenges related to the pandemic. The program is available to any business in St. Marys that can demonstrate negative financial impacts due to COVID-19. The funding must be used to help alleviate these impacts.
Businesses can apply by filling out an online form, available at www.townofstmarys.com/covidbusiness. Hard copy forms can be picked up and dropped off in person at Town Hall from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Completed forms can also be placed in drop box outside of Town Hall’s Church Street entrance. Forms should be in a sealed envelope and addressed to Kelly Deeks-Johnson, Tourism and Economic Development Manager. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, November 27, 2020.
All applications will be evaluated by the Town’s selection committee. Considerations will include the eligibility of the applicant, how the business has been impacted by the pandemic and the benefits provided by the use of the funds, both to the business itself and the community as a whole.
Successful applicants will be notified on or before Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Grant funds will be provided during the first week of December.
Questions about the grant program can be directed to Kelly Deeks-Johnson, Tourism and Economic Development Manager at 519-284-2340, ext. 272 or email@example.com. For more information about the Town’s response to COVID-19, visit www.townofstmarys.com/covid19.
