Retrogression decided the champions in two of the three divisions at the annual Ladies Scramble last Thursday at St. Marys Golf and Country Club.
A total of 124 golfers (31 teams) took part in the Texas Scramble format.
Entries from Beamsville and London both came in with seven-under-par scores of 65 in the ‘A’ division. The nod went to the Beamsville foursome of Pat Reynders, Maureen Paul, Leah Taggert and Debbie Duncan.
The Hot Shots team of Patsy Hoto, Patsy Jacko, Diane Jamieson and Betty Drinkwalter finished one shot back in the ‘A’ flight with a 66. The Goderich Sunset team of Maureen Peet, Barb Lassaline, Judy Lajeunesse and Brenda Jarrett were fourth with a 67.
The St. Marys team of Amie Shackleton, Linda Wydeven, Patty Hearn and Deanna Dougan posted a two-under 70 in the ‘A’ flight.
In the ‘B’ flight, the London team of Jill Harness, Michelle Hall, Marlene Suzuki and Anne McLean fired a five-under 67 to top the field. Two shots back were the foursome of Sandy Burns, Vicki Colquhoun, Chas Bos and Dorie Blake.
In the ‘C’ Division, four teams posted one-over-par scores of 73. Retrogression gave the Dunns from Waterloo first place. Members of the Dunn entry were Trudy Dunn, Nancy McCutcheon, Linda Dunn and Annie Crump.
Second place went to the Budcamp team — Terese Edwards, Beth Walker, Lynn Knight and Sheila Chessell.
Notes:
–In the recent St. Marys Healthcare Foundation golf tournament at St. Marys G&CC, the local team of John and Mark Bell, Brad Roth and Gary Reynen topped the field. They combined for a solid 11-under-par score of 61.
A full field of 120 golfers took part, and the Sept. 10 event raised over $22,000.
