Council to discuss COVID response live online on Monday, June 29
Town Council has been faced with many challenging decisions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, but with social distancing guidelines, councillors have not had many opportunities to be face-to-face with residents to discuss and explain these decisions.
On Monday, June 29, all members of Town Council will participate in a live-streamed question-and-answer session on the Town’s Facebook page (@stmarysontario) at 7:00 p.m. Council traditionally holds two “coffee with council” sessions per year in council chambers but is moving online this year for safety reasons.
Residents can submit questions in advance to email@example.com or to Deputy Clerk Jenna McCartney at 519-284-2340, ext. 212. Questions can be asked in the comments of the live stream but pre-submitted questions will have priority.
“This council prides itself on being open and accountable,” Mayor Al Strathdee says. “This virtual coffee with council is an opportunity for us to answer questions and explain how we’ve dealt with this unprecedented pandemic, and how we envision our path moving forward.”
A Facebook account is not required to view the video, but you will need an account if you would like to submit a comment on Facebook during the meeting. To view, visit www.facebook.com/stmarysontario.
The video will remain posted on the same page after the live stream ends.
