These days, podcasts are more popular than ever. And now, there’s one that is based out of St. Marys.
Christopher Swarthout, along with friends Anthony Shuglo and Patrick Clancy, have recently debuted ‘The Half Cut Podcast’.
You might remember Swarthout for any number of reasons, but perhaps from his former creative endeavor, ‘Swarty Takes On St. Marys’. This YouTube show featured interviews with local business owners with the goal of having some fun and promoting some of the amazing places within St. Marys. Those videos are still available on YouTube and Facebook.
Swarthout first coined the phrase #stmarysfamous, in a self-depreciating fashion that poked fun at his local popularity, but not being known anywhere else.
“The Half Cut Podcast doesn’t focus on one geographic location,” Swarthout told the Independent. “We follow the news and current events, along with sports. We discuss it and put our own spin on things, having a few laughs and pints while doing so.”
Since the arrival of COVID-19, the trio have been meeting virtually to hang out. After a few pints, ‘The Half Cut Podcast’ was born.
“Skype makes it easy for us to meet since Anthony is from Windsor and Patrick is from Meaford,” added Swarthout.
“Every time we get together we talked about doing this podcast. We’ve just never had time. Now we have time. So, why not take advantage of it,” said co-host Anthony Shuglo.
“The name was never an issue. We always knew it was going to be called The Half Cut Podcast,” Patrick Clancy added.
You can find ‘The Half Cut Podcast’ on Spotify and iTunes Podcasts. Click the follow button and get all the latest episodes as soon as they’re uploaded. The show will be released every Sunday afternoon.
