On Friday, January 10, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. a male known as 47-year-old Darren Borth was located by the Stratford Police in the Town of St Marys and arrested for several incidents of theft from the LCBO Store in St Marys. The male had been identified as being responsible for theft of product from the LCBO on January 4th, 6th and 7th. Borth was transported to Stratford Police Headquarters where he was charged with three counts each of Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Breach of Probation. Borth was released on an Officer-In-Charge Undertaking and was issued a court date for January 27, 2020. On January 11, 2020 shortly after 2:00 p.m. the owner of a residence located on Queen Street West, in the Town of St. Marys, returned home to find a male inside her home. The owner immediately fled from her home and contacted police. An officer attended and was able to identify the male as 47-year-old Darren Borth. Borth had kicked in the back door of the residence and stole several items from within. Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Borth was located and arrested in the area of the St Marys Cement Plant. Borth was transported to Stratford Police Headquarters where he was charged with Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5000, Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Breach of Probation. Borth was held in custody to attend the bail hearing on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
