The popular St. Marys’ Independent column ‘Tuned In,’ will become a weekly radio program on St. Marys Radio beginning this Friday.
New episodes of ‘Tuned In’ will air every Friday at 6:30 pm. The episodes will replay on Saturday and Sunday at 12 and 6 pm both days.
Each episode will then be made available for on-demand listening the following Monday on St. Marys Radio’s SoundCloud page https://soundcloud.com/st-marys-radio
The column has run for many years with the paper, and covers a wide array of topics and how they are portrayed in song.
Writer and host, Robert Edney, has spent his life involved in music as a touring musician and for the last 17 years as the owner and operator of the World’s Coolest Music Store as well.
“I had originally started the column after being asked to help a local restaurant program their music over the dinner hour,” says Edney. ” I began to realize that people, in general, weren’t aware of the impact music has, or can have, to improve our lives, such as increasing our output during a workout to understanding and appreciating other cultures.”
Spencer Seymour, Program Director at St. Marys Radio, approached Edney about the idea and the two began to explore what it might sound like, “We have had a lot of fun putting the program together and I think our listeners are going to enjoy the stories,” says Seymour, who doubles as an on-air personality and may be best known as the voice of The Lincolns.
Edney is serving a second term on St. Marys Town Council, produces The Front Porch Show and fronts his own band, Joy Brigade, out of Toronto.
