Jr. boys also split Huron-Perth pair last Tuesday at DCVI

St. Marys DCVI Senior boys moved into sole possession of third place by splitting a pair of Huron-Perth Conference matches last Tuesday, Oct. 29 at DCVI.
Steve Chateauvert’s ‘A’ squad finished regular-season play with a 6-2 won-loss record.
In their opening match of the day, Salukis dominated the Goderich Vikings–winning all three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-8 and 25-19. Good serving by Jake Littlejohn, great hitting by Duncan Massie, and consistent setting by Jack Thorup were just a few of the highlights for the St. Marys Seniors.
In their second match of the day, Salukis faced the undefeated Stratford Secondary Schools team and dropped both sets — 25-18 and 25-17.
Stratford Secondary Schools (AAA) topped the conference with a perfect 8-0 record, followed by Stratford Mikes (AA) who posted a 7-1 record.
The DCVI Senior boys competed in the H-P playoffs this week (Tuesday) at the Stratford Agri-plex. Their opening match in the morning was against Mitchell Blue Devils.
Junior boys also split pair
In H-P Junior boys action last Tuesday at DCVI, Ian Moore’s squad also split a pair of conference matches.
In their opening game of the day, Salukis took Goderich to three sets — losing 25-14, winning 25-21 and losing 25-14. In their second match of the day, the DCVI Juniors swept Stratford Secondary Schools 25-21 and 25-17.
Salukis finished regular-season play with a 4-5 record. F.E. Madill Mustangs from Wingham topped the H-P standings with an undefeated 9-0 record, followed by St. Mikes Warriors (7-2) and Goderich (7-2).
