There’s lots of free summer fun high above St. Marys this July, as the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Grand Trunk Trail and trestle continue.
Tonight, Wednesday, July 10, the Stratford Astronomy Group will share their telescopes and expertise on the trestle from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Come get closer to the moon and stars as this month marks 50 years since NASA’s moon landing!
Stretch your mind and body Thursday evening, July 11, with another session of the popular “Sunset Yoga” series at 7:15 p.m., sponsored by the St. Marys Healthcare Foundation. Please bring your own mat and water. Another class will take place on Thursday, July 18. On Saturday, July 20, there will be a Tai Chi demonstration at 11 a.m. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate in both these gentle activities.
Popular town programs are also taking to the trestle this month! Join the Friendship Centre in a fitness class at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 12, and bring the little ones to a special edition of Tales for Tots on the Trestle on Thursday, July 18 at 10 a.m.
Mark your calendars for Monday, July 22 at 7 p.m. for an all-ages Bubbleology Show, sponsored by the Lions Club of St. Marys. Miss T will bring her bubble tools and tricks to new heights on the trestle! Watch the beautiful display from the trestle or from your water craft on the river.
There’s much more fun to come on the trail and trestle in August! Check out the full list of activities online at www.townofstmarys.com/20onthetrestle or on the beautiful new mural in the windows of the Andrews Building on Queen Street, painted by local artist Mandy Verge. Inclement weather announcements will be made via the Town of St. Marys social media pages.
