The steampunk inspired musical show Joy Brigade, fronted by town councillor Rob Edney will be bringing their one of a kind show to Stratford and St. Marys this weekend.
Saturday the 6th will see the time-travelling musicians hit the stage at The Hub in Stratford at 9:00pm. Doors open at 8:00 and there are still a few tickets available at The Hub or the World’s Coolest Music Store in St. Marys. It is recommended that you call ahead for reserved seating for the show.
The Hub show will be 3 sets concluding at midnight, and expect the dance floor to be packed from the first song to the last.
Sunday will see Joy Brigade as the musical guests on The Front Porch season 3 premiere show in St. Marys. The band will be performing three songs and, of course, the show is open to all ages. Edney is excited that many of his students will have the opportunity to see himself and vocal coach Summer Weiler perform.
Weiler divides her time performing between shows with Joy Brigade throughout central Ontario and shows with the North American troupe of the Abba tribute show, Bjorn Again. Her next shows with Bjorn Again will see her in California and Washington.
The third St. Marys resident to round out the line-up is vocalist Hannah Power. Power, a student at Guelph University, has been a long-time student of both Weiler and Edney and has launched her own solo acoustic career recently. She will be performing original and cover acoustic versions at The St. Marys Golf and Country Club August 17 3:00 – 6:00 and an evening show August 30, this summer, as well as shows in Stratford, Guelph and Central Ontario.
Joy Brigade has been very busy in the lucrative Festival and event market as well as private shows. “We don’t do very many night club shows right now, as there has been a strong demand in the corporate market for what we are doing,” explains Edney.
What to expect Saturday evening ; “We will be performing songs by Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Muse, Justin Timberlake and even The Black Eyed Peas. If you enjoy letting the music take you away and dancing all evening, this is the show for you.”
