5th annual event a success
The 5th Annual Hike For Hospice took place Sunday June 2nd. Stratford Perth Hospice Foundation staff, volunteers, and fundraisers came from across Perth County for the Hike.
Andy Werner chairs the foundation and announced that the Hospice will be celebrating its Grand Opening later this month.
Participants of Sundays Hike were treated to an advanced viewing of the facility, still under construction.
“When you see the building, you’re probably going to say, ‘There’s a lot to be done.’ But our contractor says that’s fine, we’re going to get it done. And so, Saturday June the 22nd is going to be the official opening at 12 noon,” Werner announced.
Councillor Robert Edney brought greetings from St. Marys. “I see a lot of St. Marys faces here, so hello St. Marys, thank you all for coming,” he continued, “The measure of any great community is how it protects and serves its most vulnerable citizens, and this is a great example. Stratford has led the way, whether it’s cultural, the arts, or great social services, and St. Marys is proud to be partnered with it. This facility speaks volumes to the quality of life in Stratford and the county.”
Councillor Edney, his daughter Allison and wife Leslie also participated in the Hike.
