The colourful Garden Fair hosts another fundraising event sponsored by the St. Marys Horticultural Society on Saturday, June 1st. For its 22 years the event has been held at the historical Milt Dunnell Field on Water Street North, alongside the picturesque Thames River. There you will find numerous varieties of plants and garden items presented by over 20 different vendors. Just to name a few items, there are annuals, new and unique perennials, hostas, bushes, grasses, water plants, vegetables, herbs, beautiful hanging baskets, a grand selection of garden accessories and more. A big feature of the fair is the popular Heritage tomato plants grown by 3 Society members. No garden fair would be complete without them. There will be approximately 10 different varieties and over 600 plants.
This year they will have delicious hot and cold food items provided by the local Lions Club and Baristas Café. The fair starts at 8.30 AM and runs until 1 PM. There is free admission with lots of free parking.
You can purchase your Horticultural membership and talk to available Master gardeners to answer any questions you might have. Your support and attendance is welcome and appreciated by the Horticultural Society and its vendors. We promise you won’t go home empty handed. Come early for the best selection.
