Those eager to cast a ballot in the 2018 municipal and school board election early will get their chance on Saturday, October 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Community Hall at the Pyramid Recreation Centre.
Before heading to the polls, voters should visit www.townofstmarys.com/election and fill out the online form to ensure they are on the voters’ list. Voters can also drop by the lower level of Town Hall during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) to confirm that they are on the list.
Those planning to participate in the advanced polls will need to bring a valid piece of identification showing their name and signature in order to be eligible to vote. Election workers will accept an Ontario Driver’s License or Health Card, a Motor Vehicle Permit, Canadian Passport, Certificate of Citizenship, Social Insurance Card or credit card.
Those who would like to vote on behalf of another qualified elector who is not a relative, or on behalf of one more qualified electors who are relatives need to complete and submit a Proxy Application Form. Forms are available anytime at www.townofstmarys.com/election or at the lower level of Town Hall during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Proxy Application Forms can also be completed at the polls on the day of advanced voting.
Voters who prefer to wait until Election Day can cast their ballot on Monday, October 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Hall at the Pyramid Recreation Centre.
