Oxford District Women’s Institute made two presentations of funds raised from their May 6th event “Garden Party for a Cause”. A total of $6,000 was raised for the Children’s Hospital of Southwestern Ontario and was divided between two organizations within. Penny Harman, Philanthropy Associate from the Children’s Health Foundation, was presented a cheque for $3,000 which will be used to purchase much needed breast pumps. The other $3,000 cheque was presented to Isabel Wildfong, president of the Children Hospital Auxiliary. Working with the Child Life program, the auxiliary will be purchasing iPads and electronic toys for the children to use during their stay. Last year a total of 1870 children from Oxford county were cared for at the Children’s Hospital of Southwestern Ontario.
