It was announced this week that Steve Stapleton has tendered his resignation as President of the St. Marys Lincolns.
A press release from the organization stated that, “over the past five years, including nearly three years as team president, Steve has committed a huge amount of his personal time towards the operation of the team’s affairs. He has worn many different hats during his time with the Lincolns, and his various contributions will certainly be missed. We wish Steve all of the very best in the future and we thank him for his service to the hockey club.”
The release, which was sent out Thursday morning, indicated that the team’s board of directors would be convening last night to “revisit the composition of the team’s Executive in light of this development, and an announcement will be made shortly thereafter.”
The team’s new treasurer Stewart Grant said that, “with so many community members getting newly involved either at a board level or general membership level, along with those various individuals who lend their support year after year, I’m confident that together we will successfully move the hockey club forward in a positive direction.”
