On Saturday, the St. Marys Lions held their annual toll bridge event on Victoria Bridge, describing it in a press release as a “magnificent day,” despite the sweltering heat. Net proceeds of the day totalled nearly $3,000, which will go towards the revitalization of Cadzow Park.
The group thanked St. Marys residents for their generosity, adding that they “never cease to amaze.”
They also thanked Lion Raymond Taylor and his group of Leos, particularly Leo President Jessie, and Leos Rachel, Casey and Marie, for giving the “oldies” a break. Bruce Graham and GOCO, A Buck or Two Plus, and Barista’s were also thanked for their contributions, as was Barry the Lion.
