Will start mid-July
The Dana plant on James Street has a new company moving in and it is not a tire company. “Guardian Bridge Rapid Construction Inc” are moving their manufacturing company from Stratford to St. Marys. The company makes prefab fiberglass bridges, and pre fab homes and condos. At present they are located at Erie Street in Stratford. Josh Dewar, General Manager, told the Independent that the family-owned company was established in 1994. He said that they have started the process of moving equipment into the Dana building, which they will purchase within a year, and that new equipment is also on the way from Europe. The company will be fully operational by mid-July and will be hiring 25 employees to start. Dewar said that an announcement on hiring will be made shortly. When asked for a comment, Mayor Al Strathdee said, “we are very excited to welcome the Guardian Bridge Company to St. Marys. This is a great opportunity for our Town. We look forward to their future growth and prosperity.”
