The Easter Bunny will be in town on Saturday with a basketful of eggs to hide around the yard of Westover Inn (300 Thomas Street, St. Marys) for all the sharp-eyed youngsters of St. Marys and area.
The Kinnette Club of St. Marys’ annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place between 10:00 am and noon tomorrow. Admission to the event will be by donation of a non-perishable food item or cash donation on behalf of the Salvation Army.
The Kinette Club has been hosting an annual egg hunt in the community for over 25 years, said Easter Egg Hunt chair and club director Joanna Campbell. While its location has changed over the years, the hunt has been held at the Westover Inn for much longer than the past six years Campbell has served as chair, she added.
“It’s been going as long as I can remember,” said inn keeper Deanna Day.
Weather permitting, events scheduled to take place include facepainting, Easter games, gift draws, and of course the egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Home-made cookies, juice and other refreshments will be on hand, donated by Westover Inn and Foodland.
The Westover will also be selling coffee, with all proceeds going towards the Food Bank, Day said.
