The Challenge: Open to everyone. Get the creative juices flowing to design a quilt or fibre art piece…it could be knitted, felted, collage, woven, embroidered, printed, or a mixture, colourful or muted….you’re the artist. How big? Just 12 inches or 1 foot square.

The Theme: “Make it Big; make it small”. Play with big and small patches, or a big theme, for example: family, peace, the environment, space, big city/small town, elephants and mice!

The Exhibition: St.Marys Museum, May 14 to June 9 – All welcome to the Opening party at 6pm Monday May 14
The exhibit goes to Black Creek Pioneer Village, Toronto, as part of the Quilts at the Creek open air quilt show July 29 & 30, then back to St.Marys, September 21 & 22 for the QuiltX show at the Pyramid centre.
For inspiration, come out to a “Trunk Show” at Hyggeligt Fabrics, on Saturday 7 April, from 11.30am to 2.30pm, with Valerie Prideaux, Jane Cramer and Shirley Dawson from Quilts at the Creek Collective. They’ll be talking about former challenge pieces in their yearly open air quilt show in Black Creek Pioneer Village, Toronto. (Where the “Quilt Squared” show will also be exhibited. Enjoy refreshments and make quilting connections.
