“Koats for Kids” at Stonetown Diner

Young kids coats needed

The St. Marys Lions Club “Koats for Kids” is once more in full swing with coats still available. However, Marlene Forman, who cleans all the coats free of charge at Cascades Cleaners, said that there is a need for coats for younger children. The location for the pick-up of coats is still the former Stonetown Diner at 23 Water Street South thanks to the generosity of Peter Black. The former restaurant is open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM. The original idea came from Cliff Elliott (Marlene Forman’s dad) when he was a member of the St. Marys Optimist Club. After the Club was dissolved the St. Marys Lions Club took over the campaign. As in previous years, coats that are not picked up will be taken to the House of Blessing or our local Salvation Army and distributed with the Christmas food hampers.
