Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame Game tonight

By Stewart Grant

The Lincolns are please to host the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame game tonight at the Pyramid Recreation Centre, sponsored by St. Marys Landscaping.  The CBHOF is having their annual silent auction, with items on display in the lobby during the game.  The night will also feature in-game baseball trivia, an intermission game, and free baseball card giveaway.

The first-place London Nationals (16-6-0-1) will take on the Lincolns (6-13-1-2) in tonight’s game. St. Marys is currently in 7th place in winning percentage in the nine-team GOJHL Western Conference, battling for position with the Strathroy Rockets and Komoka Kings.

Last Saturday, the Lincolns traveled to Strathroy’s home rink and skated away with a 5-3 victory. Nick Jung led the Lincolns with three goals and an assist, while Dan Cloutier, Dalton Bancroft and Matthew Zilke also enjoyed two-point nights. Playing their second game in less than 24 hours, St. Marys did not fare as well against a strong Leamington Flyers club, dropping a 6-0 decision at the PRC.

This week, GM Glen Childerley announced the signing of promising 16-year-old forward Michael Andrews. The native of Quinte West racked up an impressive 28 goals and 67 points in 36 games last season with the Quinte Red Devils Minor Midget AAA club. This year with the Clarington Toros Midget AAA team, Andrews has four goals and six points in 10 games.
