Lincolns host Sarnia Legionnaires tonight

First Responders Night at the PRC

By Stewart Grant

The St. Marys Lincolns are currently battling for position in the GOJHL’s closely-bunched Western Conference and the team has a pair of key games this weekend.

At 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Pyramid Recreation Centre, the Lincolns (currently 9th place with 10 points) host the Sarnia Legionnaires (currently 6th place with 16 points). Then tomorrow night, the Lincolns make the short drive to Komoka (currently T-7th place with 12 points) for a 7:15 p.m. match.

“Our home game this week honours first responders, the men and women in our community who keep us safe,” said Lincolns VP of Business, Bill Lowe. “The pregame ceremony will recognize representatives from St Marys Fire Department and the Ontario Provincial Police. Complimentary tickets have been distributed so family members and friends can attend the game.”

Next week, Friday, November 10th, is the Lincolns’ annual Remembrance Day game. Representatives from both the Canadian Legion and the Army, Navy and Air Force will be on hand for the pre-game ceremony in the form of a colour party as a minute of silence is observed. Then, there is a Sunday afternoon game (2:00 p.m.) on October 12th which will include representatives from the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society as the Lincolns support them in their fund-raising and information distribution efforts.
