Melodies at the Museum returns for a sixth season

Summer concert series features local favourites and new talent

Back by popular demand, the St. Marys Museum will be hosting its sixth annual Melodies at the Museum summer concert series during the month of August. Every Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. a different musical performance will take place on the Museum’s front lawn. With five Wednesdays in August this year, there are five concerts to look forward to in the coming month!

Ron Break will start the series on August 2 with his first ever Melodies at the Museum performance. Break received his first guitar at the age of 11 and has since developed into an accomplished self-taught guitar player with a keen ear for rhythm. He has lent his vocals talents to various groups, including Men II Boys and the Milton Choristers. Break also performed with Stephen Michaels (Kabakos) in an Elvis Presley tribute show for more than 17 years and brought his natural bass and baritone to the “Jordanaires Quartet.” Break now lives in St. Marys with his wife, Linda. His granddaughter, Georgia Edwards, will be joining him on stage.

August 9 brings the Gee Gees, four moms who love to play, sing, laugh and have fun. On August 16, Steph Martin and Friends, a group of girls who gather to play music for the fun of it, will perform. On August 23, St. Marys native Kevin Graham will be the featured performer. The concert series will conclude on August 30 with Corduroy Gordon. Stay tuned for more detailed biographies on each performer!

Admission to the concerts is by donation, with all proceeds going to the St. Marys Museum. Please bring a blanket or lawn chair with you. Performances will take place on the front lawn of the St. Marys Museum and will be moved to St. James Anglican Church at 65 Church Street South in inclement weather.
