In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the popular Customs House pub on Water Street provided clarity on its situation which came as welcome relief to its many patrons. The post read, “RUMOUR UPDATE: We here at Customs House are excited to squash any rumours of us closing our doors. We will be replacing our ventilation, and fire suppression system in our kitchen which will leave our restaurant menu available in approx. 3 weeks. We thank you for your patience and understanding through this time of upgrade and assure you it will be worth the wait. So don’t worry folks we will be here bringing great times and awesome food for years to come!!!!! …yes we said years”
Customs House opened April 1st of this year and has been experiencing great success, particularly on weekends where large crowds have enjoyed the talented live bands that have been brought in, including Corduroy Gordon, Among Millions, Containment Unit, and many more.
During the current renovations, the pub/front room will remain open for bar and snack sales from 5 pm until close on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
