Staffen Zoning By-Law Amendment approved

Perth South Council Meeting Recap

By Scott Maxwell

Perth County Planner Mark Swallow appeared before  Council on June 6 with an application from Rob and Sharron Staffen, with the request to make adjustments to their property on 120 Road, just off of Queen St. East. The Staffens wish to provide some of their land north of their property to the St. Mary’s Golf and Country Club, while getting possession of some of the land to the south of their property, which is owned by the club.

In addition to this zoning by-law agreement, the Staffens requested a removal of the restrictions to the building on their lot, with the intentions of constructing a residential lot. These restrictions were originally placed on the building in 1988.

The Council approved of both the zoning by-law adjustment and the request to remove the building restrictions, allowing the application to move onto the next stage of the approval process.
