Lincolns’ President Reflects on Memorable Season

By Brandon Boyd

Well, the boys lost a tough one Wednesday night, but what a season we have had.  I would like to thank everyone for their energy invested into not only making the St Marys Lincolns competitive again, but also for restoring the community value the club has known for 60 years.  Being a small town Jr. B centre, it certainly isn’t easy fighting above our weight class; congratulations to Glen, Scott, the staff and the players for working their tails off to get to where we are today.  Let’s reflect on some success:

• First 20 win season in 5 years

• First home playoff win in 5 years

• Coaching staff & rookie of the year in the Western League

• Huge increase in attendance

• Strengthened relationships with sponsors, minor hockey, and public schools

• Volunteer growth

• Commitment to engaging alumni

While positive steps have been taken, we still have much work to do.  It has been great getting to know some new faces this year, and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

TONIGHT – Since there won’t be a game tonight, there will be a Lincs’ get together at the Creamery for some drinks at 7 p.m.  All are welcome as we wrap up the year and share ideas going forward.

AWARDS BANQUET – note in your calendars, the awards banquet will be March 31st in the PRC Hall.  Event will be catered by Janice Mitchell, and is open to the public.  Be sure to confirm your spot with myself or any of the executive.  More details to follow.

Thanks again,

Go Lincs Go,

Brandon Boyd
