Local Businesses Prepare for London Farm Show

March 8-10 at Western Fair

The 2017 edition of the “largest indoor spring farm show in Eastern Canada” gets underway this Wednesday, March 8th and runs through Friday, March 10th.  For many local businesses, it is a great opportunity to spend time with others in the agriculture industry and display the latest in farm-related products and services:

Among the more than 370 exhibitors within 290,000 square feet of show space are at least a couple dozen companies that operate in our readership area. A few of these companies responded to our inquiries about why they look forward to the London Farm Show each year:

Dennis DeWetering, of DeWetering Agri: “The London Farm Show has become the premier show during the winter months. Even though it is a local show for us, it is a major on the calendar. Since we are a fairly young company established in 2006, it’s a great opportunity to meet with local pig and poultry producers who might not know we are right in their own backyard.”

Maria Donkers, of Donkers Agri: “We are excited for the London Farm Show because it is a great time to meet new and existing customers. This time of year we also have our presale of Bunker Silo Plastic, Bale Wrap and Net Wrap and other farm supplies. It has always been a good show, and you can find us in the Progress building at 120D.”

Ian Nuhn, of Nuhn Industries: “We look forward to attending local farm shows every year. The shows give us a chance to see our customers and understand their needs so we can provide them with customized solutions to their manure management systems. With over 100 years as a family owned business, we know how important it is to stay in touch with our loyal, local customers and the London Farm Show provides a great opportunity to do that.

Liz Fawcett, of Fawcett Tractor Supply: “We have been doing the London Farm Show for close to 25 years. We enjoy having the opportunity to not only meet some of our customers for some coffee and a hand shake but also being able to see new additions to the agricultural sector, both family and business generations but also in product and technology. It’s great having such a big event in our backyard. #LdnFarmShow”
