Hockey club offering refunds to those impacted by canceled draw

Two weeks after having their “Chase the Ace” Sweepstakes shut down, the St. Marys Lincolns have still not received clarification from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) on the reason for their concern about the contest, for which the team believed was structured in compliance with sweepstakes regulations.
Although efforts continue on behalf of both the hockey club and Town of St. Marys to seek answers from AGCO, Lincoln Executive moved this week to introduce a refund policy for fans impacted by the recent cease-and-desist order on the Sweepstakes.
“While the status of our Chase the Ace Sweepstakes is still up-in-the-air, we do not want this uncertainty to continue for our fans,” said Vice President Bill Lowe. “We had a number of fans purchase Lincolns hockey cards [and receive draw tickets] in the week leading up to the Chase the Ace draw which would have otherwise occurred on February 7th. If there are any fans that are having buyer’s remorse because the Chase the Ace draw did not take place that week, or for subsequent weeks, we want to give them the opportunity for a full refund.”
Those persons interested in obtaining a refund are asked to contact Bill Lowe by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, by phone at 226-661-0131, or in person at the Lincolns game tonight.
With it being the final (regular-season) home game for the Lincolns, tonight is “Fan Appreciation Night” at the Pyramid Recreation Centre with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 pm. The team is hoping for another huge crowd to cheer them on against Chatham as they jockey for position in the upcoming GOJHL playoffs.
