St. Marys DCVI hosts highschool Regionals

Fifteen secondary school teams (8 boys, 7 girls) competed Wednesday and Thursday at the Lind Sportsplex in the Perth County Regionals. Representing St. Marys DCVI for the boys were: Peter Conway-Black (grade 12+, skip), Joel Azzano (grade 12, vice), Kyle Gardner (grade 9, second), and Austen Connolly (grade 9, lead). The DCVI girls team was comprised of: Jessica Lawson (grade 11, skip), Kaylea Thompson (grade 9, vice), Sophie Shrubsole (grade 9, second), and Shaelynn Ainslie (grade 9, lead). The DCVI coaching staff this year are Erika Scheerer, Ian Morton, and assistant coach Brady St. Louis. Following the two-day regionals, two boys teams and two girls teams will qualify for the Huron-Perth tournament to be held next week. The identity of the winners were unavailable at press time.
