St. Marys Library Space and Service Needs Study Committee Seeking Public Members

The Board of the Town of St. Marys Public Library are happy to announce that a Library Space and Service Needs Study Committee has been created to advance the vision and clarify the recommendations presented in the Ontario Trillium Foundation funded study completed last autumn.

Board Chair Cole Atlin, Board member Reg Quinton, and CEO Shannan Sword are seeking members of the communities of St. Marys and Perth South to join the committee to ensure a continued strong community input into the future plans for the library.

A public meeting for those interested in joining this committee is scheduled for Saturday February 11th at 10:30am in the library. Light refreshments will be served.

Any St. Marys or Perth South resident who is interested in joining this committee in helping to choose the future path of library service in St. Marys is encouraged to attend.

The study highlighted the numerous successes of our Library while also indicating some areas in need of further planning and development. This committee will address these findings to further recommended plans of action to the Board.

Library CEO Shannan Sword says, “The best way to ensure that the library provides the services our community wants and needs is to continually listen to what our community has to say. We encourage anyone interested in the study to attend the meeting on February 11th and to consider joining the committee. We want your input.”

The full report is available for review online on the Library website: http://www.stmaryspubliclibrary.ca or in the library.
