The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate several break and enters which occurred on Road 92, near the 31st Line in Zorra Township, which is Happy Hills Campground.
Police were notified on Sunday, January 15, 2017 by the campground manager, that an owner had discovered a break and enter to his trailer.
Investigation revealed nineteen locked trailers had been broken into, occurring likely between Tuesday, January 7, 2017 and Sunday, January 15, 2017. The area of the campground that was targeted is for seasonal camping with it being closed for the winter now.
The investigation is continuing and owners are being contacted. It is unsure what items have been taken at this time.
The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that are in your neighborhoods or in rural areas. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
