“Koats for Kids” at Stonetown Diner

Ends December 17th The St. Marys Lions Club “Koats for Kids” is once more in full swing with many coats available. The coats, which can be dropped off at local banks or Galloway Law Office, are cleaned at Cascades Cleaners by Marlene Forman and staff before distribution. The coats can be picked up at the former Stonetown Diner at 23 Water Street South, (thanks to the generosity of Peter Black), which is open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm. The original Idea came from Cliff Elliott (Marlene Forman’s dad) when he was a member of the St. Marys Optimist Club and after that club dissolved, the St. Marys Lions Club took over the campaign. The last day for donating coats is December 12th, to give Marlene time to clean them, and the last day for pick-up is December 17th. Any leftover coats that are not picked up are then left at the House of Blessing or our local Salvation Army and distributed with the Christmas food Hampers.
