The annual “Stuff the Cruisers” by the OPP will be held for the next two Saturdays, with the food drive being held this Saturday and the toy drive next Saturday.
This Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary Unit will be collecting non-perishable food items for those less fortunate in our community.
The officers will have their cruisers set up in front of the McDonald’s Independent Grocer in St.Marys.
They hope to fill as many cruisers as possible in an attempt to fill the shelves of the St.Marys Salvation Army food bank.
Some of the items that would be especially welcome are; cereal, juice, peanut butter, canned meat, school snacks/treats, gluten free foods, diabetic foods & baby formula.
In previous years these food drives have been very successful and it has shown how generous our community is.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Dec. 10th the OPP will be holding a Toy Drive outside the Canadian Tire store in St. Marys, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. They hope to equal or beat the amount of toys they got last year, which was very successful. All toys will be donated to the Salvation Army and toys for all ages would be appreciated.
“Let’s stuff those cruisers!”
