The St. Marys Museum Board is holding its first ever Art, Antiques and Appraisals event as part of the annual Culture Days celebration. The event is happening on Saturday, October 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the St. Marys Museum and Archives.
Four professional appraisers will be on hand at the event to offer their expertise. The appraisers specialize in a range of antiques, including coins, military items, sports memorabilia, art works and paintings, books, china, glassware, furniture, lamps, household items and cameras.
Occupying the parking lot of the museum will be local crafters and artisans selling their wares. The original red clay roof tiles from the spire of St. Marys’ historic town hall will also be for sale at the event. Since the spire is currently being re-shingled, these genuine pieces of local history are valuable souvenirs. All proceeds from the sale of the shingles will benefit the St. Marys Museum and Archives.
Antique owners who are interested in booking an appraisal appointment can contact St. Marys Museum Board Chair Krissy Nickle at 519-671-2472 or email@example.com. The cost of an appraisal will be by donation and limited to three antiques, although patrons are welcome to book a second appointment for additional items. Walk-in appointments will be available depending on appraiser availability.
