I, like many of your readers and contributors, would like to see something better than just another pizza gas bar go in across from the St. Marys Golf Course, but doing so has a cost. An A&W franchise has a hefty cost like other franchises. While having just another pizza joint making their own versions of pizza costs nothing more than the oven, ingredients for pizza, and a trusted cook to make pizza while selling lottery tickets and gasoline to would be customers. My concern is that the gas station is another Esso, while something cheaper like the Highbury, and #7 Pioneer Station might bring more competition. What this town needs is a driving range along with a minature golf course instead of another gas station.
