Canada’s most distracted drivers and pedestrians descended upon Thorndale for their annual town wide yard sale. With so much to see and do the distraction is to be expected. Most residents wait for this day to have their garage sale. The rain poured down on Friday night but by Saturday morning the rain held off until late morning – when the skies once again briefly poured in the shopper. The weather was rain free long enough for the residents to set up their sales outside for those early bird yard sale scavengers.
The strategic shopper would have started at the Thorndale United Church that was having a bake sale as well as bacon on a bun. Once you fueled up there, Ace Hardware had their own sidewalk sale to entice passers by. The Thorndale Farmers Market was set up to let shoppers finish their trip to Thorndale stocking up on locally grown vegetables, fruits, meat, cheese, and preserves.
The local firefighters took advantage of all the traffic and set up on both
ends of King Street for their fill the boot campaign.
The town was bustling with activity and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. See you again next year!
