Local Rotary Clubs establish Fort McMurray Relief Fund

Rotary_LogoThe Rotary Club of St. Marys has approved a donation of $5,000 to the “Fort McMurray Relief Fund,” which was recently established by the Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation to assist in the rebuilding of that city following this tragic fire, local club president Doug Goudy said.

The Charitable Foundation is now ready to accept donations, for which tax receipts will be issued. The Foundation will rely on an independent committee of Fort McMurray stakeholders (including the Rotary club and the municipality) for advice on disbursal of the funds. Donations may be from individuals and corporations.

“We invite you to make a personal donation through the Rotary Club of St. Marys Charitable Trust and we will pass it on to the Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation,” Goudy said.

Donations should be forwarded to: Rotary Club of St. Marys, 12/20 Huron St. N., St. Marys, ON, N4X1C5. Please annotate cheques “Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund.”
