Glass Street extension gets go-ahead Combined utility bills delayed

The Draft Plan of a subdivision application by Thames Crest Farms to construct a collector road between James Street and Emily Street along Glass was given the go-ahead by Council. The new collector road was requested to ease construction-related and other traffic during the new proposed development of lots on Emily Street. It is planned to have the new road tar and chipped next year. In the meantime, reconstruction of Emily Street from the new intersection heading south to the overpass will take place this year, while the northern end of Emily will be completed next year. The new residential lots on Emily are also planned for next year.

The new combined billing for water and hydro has been delayed. Town Treasurer, Jim Brown, reported at the last Council meeting, that the new plan is taking longer to set up than had been previously anticipated. He said that this was a new venture for Festival Hydro, who have told by the Town that it will not be implemented until the Fall.
