Event to be held June 24th
The St. Marys Hospital Foundation is planning a unique event to be held on the longest day of the year. Andrea Macko, on behalf of the Foundation, made a presentation to Council on Tuesday night outlining the initial plans for the event. As part of a ‘Recognition Celebration” the Foundation is planning to host a cocktail celebration on the Grand Trunk Trail trestle bridge from 7.30 pm until 11 pm. The event will take place on Friday, June 24 which Macko pointed out is the longest day of the year and it should provide a great sunset while people can enjoy a beverage and some entertainment. Entrance will be at the Wellington Street access to the walkway. They also hope to have parking at the old Dresdan Plant property if permission is granted. The walkway will be closed to normal pedestrian traffic for the event and the Town will give the public ample notice on this. In the meantime the Town and the Foundation will work out all the logistics for the event and will provide more details as they become finalized.
